Dumplings House
Dumplings House
Jamestown, RI
Perched above the shores of Narragansett Bay, this coastal residence embraces the rugged beauty of its site through a sensitive and sophisticated landscape design. The new outdoor spaces weave into the site's existing topography, woodland groves, and native plant communities, preserving the spirit of the land.
A reclaimed granite auto court welcomes guests, framed by native grasses, woodland gardens, and shade trees. Stone terraces, woodland steps, and a pool deck flow naturally from the house, creating layers of outdoor living centered around an outdoor kitchen, fireplace, and spa. Planting strategies prioritize native species to enhance resilience and ecological health, while exposed ledge and mature tree canopy are preserved to anchor the design in its natural context.
The result is a refined yet timeless coastal landscape, where architecture and nature move as one with the rhythm of the bay.
